Webster defines arrogance as a feeling of superiority manifested in an overbearing manner or presumptuous claims. Has there ever been an instance in which an attitude of superiority has contributed to a resolution that was fair and beneficial to all?

I am a self-styled philospher who wants to dialogue with any other interested parties on any subjects which impact my life or the lives of most others. The topics which interest me most at this time are: secularism vs. religious thinking; politics and the need for term limits; the Constitution and the idea of separation of church and state; the pros and cons of capitalism and socialism.
